excellent portrait painting - full expressive face with amazing energy - the way you covered his body with the same color as the background, so softly and nice
you brought him back to life - I love the Bordeaux red background - the essence of this color is universal unconditional love, you gave him a big reverence

thank you Regina for such kind words of encouragement. I didn't know that about the background color so you really brightened my day by telling me that. Lee was my daughters dog we got him for her 7th birthday so this painting was mainly for her because she misses him so much even now, so I will let her know what you told me about the background, I know it will make her smile. thank you again for such a heart felt review.

I like the colors used in this image. The dog's expression is very good as well as the light balance. I think this would be a stronger piece if the dog had been facing forward a little more Thanks for submitting.

I couldn't agree with you more and I tried to find a photo of him with his full face, but that baby was a bit like a kid and if a camera was pointed a him he would goof off and each one of his pictures has the weirdest goofy grin that made him just look so out of proportion no one would believe that the dog really looked like that. I did start on one and couldn't finish it because all it did was make me laugh. with you stating it would have been better to have his face full view, I think I'll complete that painting anyway just to let people see more of his personality. I know I'll get a lot of negative reviews saying his face is out of portion but I think it might just make people laugh like I did attempting to paint it. thank you for your kind review.

thank you again my friend for being so kind to me with your reviews and the six was a huge plus so thank you for that. the colar he had on was sort of like that but I agree with you, after I finished the paintng I was going to put a do-rag on him which is what my daughter would have him wear most of the time, but she liked the one with his collar instead. don't ask me why she picked that particular collar out for him ,it's one I always hated but he was really Her dog that we got for her 8th birthday and she said that this was what she remembered, he had so many different type of do-rags that she said she really couldn't place her memory of him in one particular one like she did that ugly collar LOL. the painting was mainly for her because she misses him so much even now. thank you again dick and when I'm finished answering these reviews, I'm going strait to your portfolio I absolutely love your work.
