This is a very nice capture of a rose bud. Very sharp and with great detail. The color showing through is enhanced against the green and the strong bokeh works great here.

Yes that is a rose bud, like the background really makes the bud standout with good details and textures and a touch of pink. Thank you for sharing. dale

An elegant shot. I like the simplicity of the shot and the very fine colors. The diagonal placement and the separation from the background are eye catching.

a simplistic and natural capture of this lovely rosebud, I like the angle of capture and the natural colours, good light the bud stands out well against the blurred back ground, I think the stalk more in focus would have worked better, but that's just me, a great composition,

One thing that I really love to take photos of and that is roses, I could fill my yard up with them and still would not have enough of them. I really love the many different colors that they have now a days. I have planted some new ones and I can not wait until they start to bloom. I love the way that you have got the background blurred out because it makes this really stand out. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing. JackJr.

Thanks Jack, appreciate your feedback. The gardens this was taken in have roses that date back to the 1800's and you notice the scent on the older versions. :) Mary

I love the colour palette and the beautiful bokeh you have applied.
Mary, that bud is not sharp and it needs to be, it is the focus of the photograph. Did you shoot this with a tripod (and no breezes), did you use a low iso for clarity? If you put up some camera spec information the more serious reviewers could help you along.
Will look forward to seeing more of nature's beauty from you.

Thanks Olga, below are the techs and no tripod but yes slight breeze. Appreciate your suggestions :)
Camera: NIKON D7200
Aperture: f/4
ISO: 100
Exposure: 10/5000
Focal Length: 900/10

Aperture of 4 should have given you clearer focus. You need to keep camera parallel with flower...I don't think you did that. These are a challenge to shoot are they not. The artistry I love on this piece.

Thanks Olga will keep that in mind next time out and about :) Mary

I just read your write up on the forum and I am going to respond to it....we are all frustrated by fluffers. Your honesty has always come through Mary, you don't have an edge like many. I always appreciate your reviews.

Beautifully simplistic - the very first thing that came to mind. Then of course the artistic representation, like post processing a focal zoom - yet you didn't do that. I really like the softness surrounding the finely focus bloom. The colors and light just beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
