Awesome. I admire the antique, or rustic look of the photo. This photo, from my perspective is well adjusted in several forms, and may be an awarding presentation.

This is great! Well thought out and perfectly executed. I love the "old look" sepia, it makes the image much more impressive. I like how you have chosen to display the broom. Excellent job! - Carmen

Very cool image - my grannies had just the same broom. I really love the sepia tone. Your lighting is perfection and the details sharp and crisp. Great post work. Thanks for sharing.

Well, I have to say that whatever you did to the original image your various treatments have come out very well. The final version really does meet the requirements you set yourself in all respects. Well done!

An eye catching shot that is elegant in its simplicity. I like the aged wood look and the great tones. It seems that this perspective makes the broom handle seem awful short though.

ya you did a good job antiquing the photo, looks old, like the shadows, the old corn broom reminds me of my great-grandmothers that she used to sweep the little piece of sidewalk in front of her apartment and you better not walk on it when she was doing it,meanwhile back to you ,well done ,the knocks on the wall brings realism to the room.

Comment from Life is but a dream.
You could use a "broom series" for a gallery presentation Meg.
I think you did a good job with post processing and it looks a bit like you added high pass with those hard dark tones. The details really pop out and the patterns of fence and floor and the broom itself are excellent.
You have a great still life here and combine this with the broom and shovel and you have a nice solid series.

I really like this series Mary Eileen. The sepia tone is so very effective in bringing this scene to life in a way that I for one truly appreciate. You do such a good job with after photo effects. Between us, I am taking notes from your work and experimenting with various filters now. Well done Mary Eileen ~ Steve

Thank you Steve. The only way to use the filters is to use them and see if what you picked really enhances the photo. I have no particular formula except I usually do all my cropping, straightening and distraction removal before I look for a filter that may fit the scene. Not every filter will work well with every photo. Good luck.
