this is a very cool photo, it is very artistic. i love the play on the colors but would maybe like to see some of the inside, it is one of the most beautiful parts of the flower! Very nicely done overall

Thank you for checking this out ania. There are many flowers in my portfolio if you wish to see the inside of this COSMOS.

What a catch. Seeing a flower wrap up for the night. I love the iridescence of the underside of the petals. Very pleasing to look at. The background certainly reflects the darkness of the evening. Keep up the good work.

Ok, I quit, I am never going to take another flower photo again. Who the heck can bet this.. Plus, my cosmos don't look like this. Do you use flash to light them up.. It sis glorious... If you don't mine, well you know I lied, off to confession for me on Sat. because I will continue to try to take great flower photo's, but this is tops. Back to my question, would you mind sharing your settings and lens with me,,, I need to try this. LOL,,, Out of those blasted 6's... Thanks for sharing.

...lol...off to confession hey Kelly?? What a wonderful review. Made me laugh out loud. Thank you so very much. Of course would not mind sharing at all. Going out for a few hours but will check those setting for you and let you know. I do know it was my Olympus camera and lens...that's all I've used for years. OK...will get back to you on settings. Thanks again Kelly.

A photograph, dramatic, beautiful, storytelling in it's ebb and flow. It is as if the petals themselves were performing a dance. One of worship for the Creator. The lighting, the colors, the shadows bring this flower to life in your picture.

Dancing is exactly what I saw the night I was taking this photo Linda....all the COSMOS were dancing. Thank you so much for that really lovely review. I do appreciate it.

Deb, this is a stunning photograph! I'm a fan on lack backgrounds. This one looks like a painting with the petals slightly outlined, but the details are so intricate I couldn't imagine anyone painting it. The fading light on the center flower focuses the eye to it. The background flower in shadows adds pinch to the whole composition. The Creator loves to do His own art, don't you think?

I have absolutely no doubt Clyde....I simply look at how beautiful all my flowers are. Thank you so much for that marvelous review and, of course for the super rating.

Comment from Ronnie McClune
The shapes, composition, colours and shades are all excellent, especially when set against the black background. I particularly like the apparently casual formation - it holds the viewer's attention. Nice job well executed - Ronnie

Wow your garden is very impressive - with my brown thumb I have to go to parks and botanic gardens to get photos :) This is a captivating flower the unusual rose colored edges and the texture of the petals very beautifully captured. :) Mary

Comment from FBI GUY
Very nice tight shot. I love the lighting but you didn't have any flaring. The DOF is deep enough to get the whole set of petals in focus.
The crop is perfect and allows us to see the curving lines of the petals defined by the black background.
