Great photo arrangement of the fruit. Like the color, exposure and lighting. The black background gives the strawberries a shadow image.

I think I know who is behind this shot, but I am not so sure it represents something you never could have used in a contest. LOL What about "The Color Red". It is however a very nice shot of strawberries, and because of the black background, they are standing out in the most excellent way. I especially like the simplicity of this photo.
Your focus is spot on and sharp showing really clear and well defined details in the berries, and also the exposure is perfect.
The square format you have cropped the photo into works really well, and the berries have got a perfect placement within the frame. A lovely and well taken photo with a very good DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

This is a really good picture of strawberries. The detail in this is what I look for when I want to paint something. I like that you can see every little spot on this berry. I really like how you can see the reflection so perfect.
