Oh, so stunning, so gorgeous...beautifully puffed cardinal! A bit of a chilly March in New England...
I love the center focus of this male cardinal! I love the old dead branch...bark pealing:) The colors in blend of grey in background - perfect - in contrast to bright red cardinal! a wow shot!
Thanks for sharing! Best to you in March open challenge contest!

A fantastic picture of the male Cardinal all puffed up against the cold. His red plumage contrasting against the silver grey of the branch he is perched on. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

What wonderful colors! The gray bark and the gray in the cardinal's feathers are very attractive. I like his plumped-up look, too. Having attempted to photograph many birds many times, I appreciate your skills in capturing this fellow with such a good pose.

A grand looking bird shot presented here. Wish we here in England had such colourful birds to photograph! Your slightly off-centre shot is an appropriate composition given that you have a fine leading branch. Your sharpness and exposure are good but I feel there is possibly too much noise in the background? Otherwise, well done!

Thanks so much for taking the time to review and comment, I sincerely appreciate it. Having been to England, I wish we had places here in the U.S. like the Cotswalds and all your beautiful castles. But New England is first cousin to England, right? It's all good. LOL

Yes, you are distant relations!

And proud too!
Have a great day!

Hi Fred, thanks for taking the time to review and comment. Very much appreciated. This beautiful male Cardinal is puffing out all of his feathers to stay warm in 32 degree, very windy weather. The fluffy and fat one is me - the photographer LOL! Have a great day. Aimee

And he looks sooooo cold,,pretty red and against the grey is very nice,,love the fluffyness of this bird, the grey feathers on him show up well with the grey in the rest of the photo, I like the sideways view,,like he could not be bothered to look your way cause its too cold to even move

What a stunning colourful little guy this is. Excellent composition. The red feathers really make him stand out against the white background. Great focussing and good light.
