Wow you really did capture the light. I like how you can see the light in front of its face with a nice purple glow. Great job. Thanks for sharing

This is a very creative, and impressive photo. You angled it just right to capture the effect you were striving for. The light is like the illuminati all seeing eye. Wonderful work.

I remember he used to be called 'The Invincible Iron Man' many decades ago when I was seriously 'into' collecting comic books back in the day.
You've captured a cool picture of him here in his modern day incarnation and, yeah, the lighting and angle of the picture really looks good! : )

Remember when he was drawn as a great big hulking gray robot-like thing? That was really cool and it had a perfect 'early sixties sci fi' look to it! : )

Yes, I remember that suite and reading "Marvel" in the 60's.

This is a very nice photograph which is well set out within the picture. The lens flare sets the robot off. My only suggestion would be to see if a little more light could have been played on the head

I think this is a very original entry to this contest. I have seen a lot of sunsets in it, so this is for sure different. I especially like the limited color pallet, but think the completely blown out light effect is a distraction.
Your photo is however nice and sharp showing really clear and well defined details in Ironman. I also like how the light is falling on his suit. It is just a pity we cannot see the head because of the strong light.
Your photo is nicely framed and I think Ironman has to a fine placement within the frame. A creative and all together well taken photo, but in need of some adjustments. Still I wish you luck with the contest.

avmurray,
the contest did not allow for adjustment; it is what I saw and what I thought would be dramatic, and let the viewer help fill in the rest of the face by only see part of it. Sorry to read, you did not like or appreciate the effect.

I did not say I did not like the effect. It is just that the center of it is far too bright, and this is a distraction. I do realize that editing wasn't allowed. You are of course more than welcome for the review.
-
Understood: I did not have a lens filter to try and lower the luminance of the light when taking the shot, probably wouldn't have known how to really use it if I had, well maybe I would have. Thank you again for the reply and original review.

No problem.
Comment from AltaBarends
I like it for the flashy purple light effects that are coming from the center ; this one being a bit saturated "flash" light (with the eyes). It is very strong how this gets out of the camera, so you waited the right moment and angle for this shot with no modification.

AltaBarends,
yes, I walked all around the subject, different positions, different angles, looking through the lens of the camera and then saying that looks good and the shooting. Took several at this angle and this is the one I liked the best.
Thank you for your time, question & the review, much appreciated. Have a great day

Not something I really groove on but I looked at it from the "artists" point of view. If it was unusual light you were after you got it.
