A nicely composed shot. I like the colors and the look in his eye. Excellent details throughout and very nice cropping.

a very nice close up of this "dragon", an iguana;
good lighting and sharp focus showing details of his skin;
a better framing would include his whole tail;

    Thanks Fred - from what I have read the Australian Water Dragon is not the same species as the iguana even though they have similarities The Australian water dragon is the only species of the genus Intellagama. Would have included the tail but it was in the water and couldn't lean that far over the bridge without falling in :)

Well done Mary!!
Excellent capture of this Australian Water Dragon sunning itself on the log.
You did a Fine Job on focus, eye clarity and shooting in the bright sun.
Nice camera techs!

Suntanning,,love the tail in the water, cool shot, the log and water as background is great, he looks like he is enjoying the sun and almost camouflaged, great shot

    Thanks so much, I really appreciate your positive feedback. He was well camouflaged but fortunately hubby has good eyesight and spotted him for me :)

A beautiful shot of this beastie, the detail is sharp throughout despite the almost camouflage effect of dragon on log. A nice structure to the composition

An interesting initial impact.
An artistic rendition. Monochromatic colors. Excellent details & features. Impressive subject & textures.
Subdued lighting!
Ideal framing but tail tip was cropped.
Pin sharp focusing. Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
Thanks for sharing...

It gives me a feeling of fall when I look at this image. The beautiful gold and brown tones create a great fall image. If he wasn't so threatening looking i's say he was beautiful. What a great capture.

    Thanks Elinor, I appreciate your support and encouraging feedback. I was commenting on how beautiful he was when passer by gave me a very odd look - don't think they could see it but all of nature has a beauty just have to look through a photographers/artists eyes LOL

    I think we look at color texture and things no one else looks at.
