The angle of vision towards the phlox captures the pigments very beautifully. The rich plant pigments suggest a high anthocyanin activity, which further reminds me of the pulchritude of the plant kingdom.

Yes Skye, w/o a doubt these lovely richly colored PHLOX are some of the most beautiful in my gardens. I do appreciate you going into my portfolio and finding this one....for the intelligent review and, of course, for the gold star you shared w/ it. Thank you so much. New member btw? I believe it may be a new name I see at the end of this review so welcome to FAR.

Verdant foliage lends a visually soothing backdrop to these multi hued blooms.
Natural colors and good saturation.
Selective focusing with subtle illumination.
Tall format framing works well here.
Thanks for sharing...

Beauteeful! Your creativity never stops and I like the way you related your caption. We enjoy these down here, you can never get tired of them and they make me smile because of their simple beauty. Like the biblical reference in your caption too. Looks no worse for the wear of being drug around until you found the spot that makes us say "Wow!" and you did it again. Thanks for your enlightenment as many don't get to enjoy them as we do. Technical skills focus and presentation is spot on and the soft background is the right complement to this very pleasing piece. You have so much detail in the petals and the buds, thank you for sharing your wonderful skills. Bea

awww...that is such a wonderful review Bea. Glad you got the biblical reference and you're right...lol...that one little white 'David' blossom held up remarkably well while I trotted it around from bed to bed. When I saw that one purple blossom standing up straight like that I just KNEW I had to pop the white one in below it...and voila! So....I appreciate you checking out my new post and thank you a lot for the nicest of reviews and the extra sparkle you shared.

Voila indeed! You're welcome, I enjoy your gardens and the flowers you've memorialized until growing season happens again. Always a pleasure to view your magnificent work. Take care, Bea

Get out of here, if I can figure it out then you can, that made me snort. Happy my favorite rose is in a contest, catching up on voting before it's too late. :):):)

My yellow ROSE? I'd better go have a look then.

You work magic with that flashlight Deb.
A professional looking post with marginal space all round that is well considered by you and gives this flower room to sway and be part of the environment which is nicely blurred.
Sharp , clear with great artist's notes that not only educate us about the flower but about the methodology used by photographer...and thereby educating us all.
Solid and enjoyable to view.

Well I never mind having the word 'professional' tossed around w/ one of my photos Olga....lol But, I DID spend some time w/ this one and was particularly pleased w/ the way it turned out so more than appreciate your generous comments here. Thanks so much for checking it out and giving it such a good review.

a wonderful close up Deborah; and I must confess: I don't have any phlox in my garden;
great lighting and pin sharp focus showing nicely the texture of the petals; excellent idea to add the white one, it indicates that your white balance was perfect;

Maybe now you will sg?? They are one of the most solid, tough perennials I grow.....and pretty and aromatic. What is not to like about THAT?? ...and, Yes...lol...that one little white flower worked harder than anyone this particular evening. You are a sweetie for giving this post such a wonderful review AND a gold star to boot! Thank you so much sg. I really do appreciate it.

I am impressed by the beauty of the capture.
The white Phlox is perfectly placed into the frame. It is especially well emphasized be the shades of blue the "King" phlox provides and the soft green background. The tall framing works well since it follows the natural grow of the phlox. Using the flashlight method added just the right amount of light on the right places.

Can't blame you for loving this. It is truly beautiful. I love the purple color and the white is outstanding among them. What a wonderful contrast you have here. I doubt you are having a garden now where you live, but this is a nice keepsake of spring.

I love all kinds of flowers. This picture and the short article telling about it was interesting. The vibrant colors were made even more vibrant by the photographer. I want to start growing these, but where I live they will not survive. There was just enough contrast between the purple and white to make the composition pretty and workable.

Brand new here Mark! Welcome. PHLOX are incredibly hardy....I honestly can't imagine that you might live somewhere that they wouldn't grow. I live in a place w/ very long and harsh winters and they thrive. ALWAYS pleased to 'meet' another member who enjoys flowers as much as I do so I appreciate you checking out my new post. Thanks so very much for the lovely review too. Looking forward to a post or two.

lol...NOT to worry Paulah. I had an idea that that's what you meant....and it was actually a really good way to look at the photo on your part. Thank you again.
-
you are very kind.

awww shucks...lol...Seriously though Paulah...no-one else mentioned it being balanced from top to bottom so it was a good point on your part.

Beautiful capture, so delicate and elegant - you really brought the fine details out in perfection, excellent contrast and lighting, the blurred background lets the blooms stand out in perfection
I love the playfulness of this group having them from all angles and perspectives at once - the white one makes the shot special-
a nice composition, well framed, excellent sharpness, perfect DOF (in recovery -not able to do a lot -soon back)
