Great panorama. Reminds me of Kuwait after Saddam left. You caught a very real, and sad, story in the world's pollution. Very good job.

Wow this is kind of a sad view. It is so sad how people have to pollute the air and everything else around us. As far as the photo goes, you did a great job. Your focus, framing, and lighting are all good once again :) Thanks again for sharing :)

Fred,
A beautifully taken picture of the dark plumes of burning gasses blow out over the harbour as the pollute the surrounding air. the low light adds to the feeling of doom! Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Loving the colors found in this picture, perfect balance and definition. The orange left behind from the sundown really adds a bit of flare in the picture but does not take from the lighter and darker tones.
I love that it's almost as if I am really on the opposite side watching this from afar.. As if I'm there. Really well done!

An interesting nature (or journalism) photograph, I think cropping to panorama (following the smoke) is a smart choice. When I shot in a clean weather the result was noisy, when you shot a noisy (smoke and dust) scene the result was clean.

Well done and thanks for sharing.

What a good idea to crop this one to panoramic sg....it gives those plumes of pollution plenty of room.

I like the little bits of glow at where I assume the refineries stand. Good color throughout and smart also to include the tree tops lower frame. Gives the entire piece perspective.

I am soooo glad to live where I live sg. I grew up seeing things like this and I don't miss it a bit. Nicely put together piece here though. You had everything working just right.

Well, it certainly made for a cool photo Fred. I like the fire glow along with the smoke trails against the soft dusky blue sky.
Nice capture with fine camera techs.

a very interesting shot, supergold.
as you have great DOF as one burn off has less smoke than the other as it must be different fuels they are making. we have them about an hour up the road but I have never seem the smoke as the one has. I'm sure it is sad seeing the one spewing so much pollution in the air. :-(
always,
ron

Yes, I agree the overall look and impact of this shot is pretty depressing. Its amazing that they are allowed to run like this! Your shot has good exposure, its well composed and fairly sharp. Well done!
