Lovely framing of this pensive arctic fox. I really like the framing of the soft subtle tones surrounding your subject to offset the whites found in his fur.

Now this is my kind of photo! You have captured the true beauty of this Arctic Fox. I love the clarity of his facial features against the blurred harsh background. Very nice framing and color balance. This is the kind of nature I love to paint. Very well done and thank you for sharing.

What a gorgeous animal you have captured in your photo. ...so you must have visited the zoo on the day you took this shot. I commend you for actually going to the zoo. Am surprised it was open to let you in...unless they hope to get winter visitors looking to see if they could get a glimpse of their winter type animals in somewhat close to their favorite time of year ..... when it is cold and brisk. You did exceptional job taking this photo. The focus is perfect. The lighting is superb. The overall composition is top notch. Thank you for sharing. Ooops...I almost forgot...CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR 2ND PLACE WIN. Most deserving.

Thank you VERY much! This was at a zoo that is open year round. Most of the animals are moved indoors and some have access to the outside -like this guy :)

My pleasure.

White is a very difficult colour to get right but you have achieved a great image combining snow and the fur of the fox. I recently saw a documentary about this animal which was fascinating on a number of levels. A pleasure to view.

The framing is spectacular and PERFECT!
Sharp colors, GREAT eyes!
The background, depth of field is all the right colors to support the Fox.
Great job!

sorry, no more six* availaible; a wonderful close up portrai of this Arctic fox, a portrait as I like, not smiling at the camera; outstanding sharp focus and control of exposure for the white;

Also, one of the most beautiful animals on the planet. Your capture of his pose is perfect. You managed your white balance well and the POV is great. The background confirms it is winter in the Midwest. Nice shot.

It's a beautiful close of this gorgeous Artic God Grace.
You handled white balance well enough, but there is over exposure on his fur on His right side..The side we view left here.
Your ISO was too high for shooting white and your exposure compensation needed to be at minus 1 point zero.
I still love the shot but I like to see white balance controlled..It can be done on full manual settings.
I also would have selectively traced the eyes and lightened them in editing.
You did well on POV, focus and DOF.
;)

Thank you! I'll have to check out the process of lightening the eyes to see how that looks.
