Not the sort of thing I will ever find in my lake. I like the overhead perspective that shows the body form so clearly. The webbed feet are great as is the color. Happy birthday. I have #73 coming up in a couple weeks.

Very Cool,Mary!
Those of us who are Paleontology enthusiasts have long been especially interested in this 'living fossil' which, among other things,is one of the very few species of venomous mammals and one of only five (extant ) species of mammal known to lay eggs rather than give birth to 'live' young!
Your 'from above' photo of this specimen, swimming contentedly and looking much as his prehistoric ancestors must have hundreds of thousands of years ago, looks Great! : )

Excellent choice of subject.
A rare find! An interesting initial impact. Fine features & textures.
Enhance saturation to darken overblown patches.
Diffused focusing.
Centered framing.
Thanks for sharing...

This is just too cool! I've always read about them in school but never really saw one up close and personal. I love the way you captured this we can see his whole body. The color is very natural and pleasing to the eye what a wonderful entry to the contest good luck!

Thanks Ruth I was amazed just watching these guys they pop under the water for minutes at a time then suddenly reappear somewhere else in the section of river. Really appreciate your feedback. :) Mary
