A framer...no question. Your colors, your light and shadows, your clarity and your vantage point have all played together beautifully in this composition. It is amazing how that warm sky is above such a cold scene. So beautiful. I would change nothing...except maybe some warmer mittens while holding your camera! Sorry..I don't mean to be trite. Thanks for your efforts to share your beautiful property with us all year round. You are one with nature...not always the most comfortable place to be. Stay warm and stay well...and TY.

LOL...not trite at all Becky. Mittens/gloves are a challenge on those REALLY cold days that I want to take photos.....well, that AND keeping my battery from dying. I need gloves that allow just my index finger out. Mittens (which are actually warmer) are impossible to use w/ my camera so I'll wear big heavy gloves w/ a thin liner and try to adjust camera settings w/ just the liner on...lol...cannot tell you how many heavy right-hand gloves I've lost that way! Thank you so very much for the most excellent review...the extra sparkle you shared and especially the 'one w/ nature' bit. I like to think I am.

You are most welcome, Deborah. My hubby purchased some hunters mittens for me...that have a flap that exposes the fingers..but my digits..toes too..get cold very quickly and don't warm up quickly. I had my tripod out after and ice storm and almost could get it back in as the metal got so extremely cold. LOL re: losing the right glove. Ditto...and coffee cups!

Oh I have hunter's mittens too but exposing all four digits?? Well, not if I don't have too. I couldn't get by w/o those little heat pacs...I put them in my gloves and my shoe. Have you ever used them??
reply by nature rules on 16-Jan-2017
No I haven't...but I will try them on your recommendation! I agree about all 4 digits and thumb exposed...frozen fingers!

Oh they are THE best things ever Becky. Don't put them against your skin though. I put one under my toes (outside my sock) and either between a thin glove liner and mitten or I have mittens that have a special pocket just for the heat pac. Someone bought me a case of them last season. Best gift ever.

This looks familiar; love the sky colors; the contrast of the sky and snow on the trees is interesting and nice; kind of gives me a warm fuzzy feeling; good focus and detail; nice job!

Oh no swimmer....are all my winter shots looking exactly the same to you?? lol I suppose if you never see snow and big trees like this then they might. Well I do appreciate you checking it out anyway and then giving it a gold star. You are a dear....but let me assure you the winter shots I've posted so far in 2017 ARE taken from very different spots.

Don't worry. I may be wrong. Still a bit tired and out of it from the weekend. Take care.

Lovely photo! Wow you live out in the woods..the lighting is perfect and the focus is spot on. The little view of the trail leading out through the woods makes me want to put my showshoes on and explore!

Snow-shoeing is excellent around here MH. Don't snow-shoe on my road but there's tons of animal trails to follow. Do appreciate you checking out my new post. Thanks so very much.

Awesome. Your photo is both breathtaking and beautiful at the same time. Good color combination of the snow and sky. The road looks like you will be loosing the sky, and heading into total darkness. I like it.

Actually Bremi- although my road is mostly lined w/ great big old trees the light manages to shine on it the entire way. Do appreciate you checking out my new post. Thanks so very much.

Wonderful image, what I noticed right away was the depth of the image in the frame - nicely played. Great color, that sky has just the grandest sun filled colors and the color and detail of the snow is perfection. Wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

Whoa. What a beautiful scene Deb. I always love the sight of evergreens covered with snow (especially viewing from a nice warm place LOL) I grew up in Idaho and scenes like this were always magical. This is a great scene that I find magical in its appearance. The golden color of the sky gives this a truly mystical look that one would see in a fantasy movie like "Lord of the Rings Discovers Winter Snow" (I'm not sure if they have started filming it yet). Great scene Deb. Kudos ~ Steve

LOL...well if and when they DO start filming it Steve my place would be a great backdrop. I have honestly always felt there was something very 'special' about where I live. Thank you so much for the wonderful review and I do appreciate you checking out my new post.

A great image in wonderful winter light. I like the colors and the pine trees with fresh snow are simply beautiful. It really looks remote out there.

This is where I want to live! Your scene is so beautiful with the snow covered trees and "road" or trail leading you into the heart of the trees. I can't see how cold it is, but I can certainly feel it, especially with the sky.

LOL You cannot imagine how many people have said those same words to me USW and I always tell them that they would have to drag me kicking and screaming to get me out of here. Thank you so very much for the marvelous review and, of course, for the extra sparkle you shared w/ it. I do appreciate it!

I believe the dragging part. I would think you need a dog sled to get out of there! I don't want to evict you. Just a dog house under one of those trees with a good heater, electricity and at least Wi-Fi so I can log in to FAR.
reply by the author on 15-Jan-2017
LOL...Wi-Fi no problem. I have satellite Wi-Fi USW. Too far out in the woods for anything else....and my dog would be quite interested to see a dog house pop up there...for sure she'd be in for a visit!
