The colours and clarity of the plumage in this image are amazing. The eye is clear showing a typical alertness. I am sure the purists would comment that the image would have had greater visual impact if you had included the long tail, common to these birds. I think I would agree with that but nevertheless this is a great submission in its own right.Good Luck in the competition.

A very colorful devilish eyed bird who has you in his sights. The photo shows off the bird's bright vivid feathers in great detail and he seems to know that he quite the dandy and enjoys having his picture taken, and being admired for his good looks. Thanks for sharing.

The color, detail and even texture is really dominant in this image; making it so appealing. Your focus and dof has allowed such a crisp image for us to acknowledge and appreciate the varying patterns of color (especially in the face and around the eyes). the bird smiles and says.."my mate is mad at me cause I'm better dressed. oh i know i look gooood!" lolol. the clarity is great the capture of the light is great, the angle of the shot of the colorful bird is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall
