I think bluebonnet is the perfect name for this flower. You painted it beautifully, and it really looks like an oil painting. You blended the colors together perfectly. Thanks for sharing this beautiful piece with pastel-like colors. Well done!

really beautiful picture. so simple, yet such a suitably delicate shading. loving the treatment given to this one. very much shows your skills in these fine digital depictions. the composition is very nice indeed and the placement of all the petals, fall in a vital way.

Very pretty flower. I love this color blue. It looks great against the white and green in this painting. You've done a great job. Thanks for sharing.

Oh I just love the colors here Cleo. That gorgeous blue and all the soft shades of green behind it.

I also like how you have concentrated on one blossoms and have other less opened ones in the background. Very very pretty. I am thinking though that this is ACONITUM (aka- Monk's Hood) I grow it and have one this exact shade of blue. LUPINS grow more in a column rather than singly. But that's being picky...lol This is pretty enough to hang on the wall....no matter what you call it...lol.

Thank you very much for you kind and very encouraging review.
This plant is just the first of many in a big patch. I ensure you that those are indeed lupines of the wild lupine species Lupininus perennis because I bought the seeds several years ago at the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center and grow them in my garden. They are ideal for the strange Texan climate and so abundant now that I have to dig up some and give them to the neighbors.

Oh you lucky Lady you already have flowers! I've also gotten seeds from the Ladybird J place although not LUPINS. I have a purple and white variety that I really like. You don't often see the bi-colored ones around here. My Mother had oodles of the solid purple ones she wanted gone...lol...I spent one entire summer digging them up for her and transplanting them along my mile-long drive. They are tough little things and sooo pretty in early summer. Anyway Cleo- forgive me my questioning you....of course you know what you painted and I looked at your painting way too literally for my own good!

No problem at all! We all look "too literally" at pieces one or another time.
If you want seeds, I have a lot leftover from my harvest last year.
I have just a few blooming now. We have that strange Texan March weather when its T-shirt time at noon and thermometer drops back into the 40's at night. :o)

Cleo,
A beautiful picture of the Texas Blue Bonnet with the sun shining down upon it against a soft blurred green background. I have absolutely no idea how you achieved this beautiful result but is a work of Art in it's own right.

Wonderfully done, very nice texture type viewing over the frame. The movement is engaging and inviting. Great color and lighting play as well. Beautiful and realistic looking. Never personally done anything at all digitally so I find this end result amazing. :-)) Thanks for introducing me to something new... maybe I'll give it a look see. Wonderful artistry. Thanks for sharing.

I like the way you applied layers of brush strokes with layers of color on the petals and stalks. I don't know much about digital painting but I can see that you kept the direction of light in mind while creating the image. The shadows are applied just right and there is a good use of negative space.

Hi Cleo!
That's a very attractive digitally created Floral Image,my friend!
The bright Blue and the calm Green tones give it an enjoyably 'Classic' look!
'Good Show',my friend!

Very interesting. I mever knew you could digitally paint something like that lol. I guess i have a lot to learn. Great color and i like the vibrant purple. These are beautiful flowers and you were able to get that purpl really. Good green background lets that purple standout. Nicely done
