My dear Christian friend, not only is your picture breathtaking, but your words also, bring our hearts and souls to that place where God speaks to us. I love everything about your photo. It is gloriously spiritual. All that you have done to produce this image has truly paid off.

Thank you so much my friend. I have to admit that have very little responsibility for this scene. As I go about looking for things to shoot, I always pray "Lord, show me what you want me to see". Then, bang, there it is. I then ask for help to capture the scene HE has shown me and all I do is push the button on my iPhone. Then HE shows me what to do afterwards. So like HE guides your hand in your art, HE does the same for my photos. Thank you again Linda ~ Steve P.S. It is such an affirming inspiration to see your works and see HIM in each of them. We are so Blessed to be HIS Instrument.

Wonderful heartfelt narrative to accompany a breathtaking shot of this moonlit shoreline scene. Don't take this the wrong way (it is meant as complementary), but I struggle to imagine you in a war zone following orders with such an imaginative and artistic mind. It must have been difficult to say the least. The clarity of the shot and the black and white filter work are brilliant, with great positioning and timing showing the blurred moon, the white wash frozen in time for the sgot as it hits the rocks and the detail in the rocks themselves, as well as the fantastic DOF thtr shows intricacy from the nearest rock to the water by the horizon. Excellent work my friend. :)

Thank you so very much my friend for your very insightful and artistic review. You know I will have to admit that I don't think I was quite as imaginative or artistic before I spent time in Afghanistan. I think that being put into certain situations gives you a different perspective of life, the things that are really important and also opens your eyes to 'see the world' in a new and much clearer way. I did take a lot of photos during the four tours and now that you mention it I think each tour produced more artistic and intimately felt scenes. Hmmmm, had not considered that before. Now days I simply allow God to set the scene and all I do is push the button on my iPhone. Truly, as I wander the beaches or fields or wherever I happen to be I simply say "Lord show me what You want me to see". And it is so strange how it works. I will be some place and Bang, there it is. The scene jumps out so vividly. Then I just say "Ok Lord, I see it, help be to get enough of it so that with a little after photo work I can show the Others what YOU want them to see". So in all Truth, I cannot take much credit for this photo or any others. I simply 'Push the button' . Sorry to go on so much. Thank you so very much for your Grand rating my friend ~ Steve

I'm sure experiences like yours can make a person go two ways, introvert or extrovert - it seems like despite what you have gone through you have come out with an extrovert and deeper perspective so that is a great positive. I wouldn't last long you're right, although it does sound very odd I have a very strong sense and feeling I have been in combat situations and certainly war, like a connection to it from a past life - I'm not mad and never really believed in that sort of thing but apparently I also talk of it in my sleep and when very drunk and basically from my subconscious which is really weird. But I don't want to by any means disrespect yourself who is the real deal by making out I can relate to what you have experienced. Anyway it's me ranting now lol, I'm glad that faith guides you and is another positive force in your creativity - it certainly is producing some fantastic artwork in your photography my friend! ~ Ed.

Stunning shot and great use of the software to bring a great excitement to your presentation. The chiaroscuro technique used works well throughout and adds to the drama of what our great coastlines bring us

The solitude of this piece is calming and the sturdiness of the rocks reminds one that success is built upon a strong physical and spiritual foundation. It reminds one of the vastness of creation.

Wonderful capture - such grand lighting over the frame and the color... fabulous artistry. Great strength in the capture - perfect placement of rocks, waves and all within the frame. What a wonderful moment. Thanks for sharing!

What an inspirational image! It is powerful in black & white with the waves crashing against the rocks. Beautifully lit up by the moon? or sun? Wonderful composition. Well done!

Wow this is spectacular! So much drama thanks to your lack of color and how this was shot. What an enchanting capture. You can almost hear the crash of the waves. This is extraordinary and would have made a great contest entry.
