Wow... I love the detail, crispness, texture and depth in this image. Not to mention it's dramatic presentation in black and white. Nice stop action shooting. The image is well balanced with the moon and splashing water on the rocks. Well done Steve. Kathy

This is indeed an interesting capture. Apparently it is a fool moon behind a thin layer of cirrus clouds. The thin clouds still allow the moonlight through. It reflects on the water and lit the the stones. There is a lot detail and texture captured. The waves crashing on shore, but their fume is blown back by strong winds from land. The strange thing is that it reminds also of a strong tide our a daytime storm. Perhaps it is an metaphor telling us how a pretty day suddenly could change into a stormy night if we do not care enough. I think my thoughts are not far from what you express in your comments. I think also that this creation is visually appealing and thought provoking for the viewers. It is well balanced and framed.

nah im just here to make folks laugh...so much serious things bombard our life everyday..some will go for a jog..some will take a vacation..some will drink away those things in our life...me i just set a goal and achieve it..then when thats done onto other adventures. truly im not the top artist here but i am an old promo man who leaves em with a chuckle. so i cant stop to smell the roses..only manipulate them into a funny character to where you will never look at a flower the same way again. very cool capture Top. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of the rocky beach and crashing waves with moon in background is great. the capture of the light is great. the image is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

Sir, I do not use the term "Masterpiece" lightly, and I am not even sure that masterpiece is adequate enough for what you have accomplished with this capture.

All the adjectives I have pale in the light of this most compelling, insightful and simply beautiful composition.

Your notes do justice to your vision - I know Bresson would agree.

I could go one for quite some time elucidating all the obvious technical highlights of this piece. But it transcends mere technical excellence.

Simply put this piece is transcendental ... B-)) Bob

Bob, I am more than Humbled and Honored with your review and comments. You are so talented. I have to agree that this is an Extra-ordinary scene. I wish I could take credit for it. Yes, I took the shot and yes I did the after photo work. However, I am but a witness to the scenes I see and I simply push the button on my iPhone. Everything is already set up for me by God. I am simply given the privilege to capture scenes that, as you say, are transcendental. Thank you especially for your Grand rating ~ Steve

I think this is a very powerful piece of photography with a very powerful message. Your notes inspired me today when I needed inspiring the most!!! Love the moon in the black sky and the rushing in of waves over the rocks. I have always been a fan of black and white photography maybe that is because I work with graphite pencil and only. Bravo to a piece well done!! Barb Baker

This composition along with your artist notes speak of nature and her messages to all of us. But very few take the time of have the sensitivity to see it as you do. You have a gift...not only in your photography..but in your heart...that you a willing to share. And I am thankful to have access to your gifts here on FAR. Thank you for sharing, Steve...a thousand times over. This composition is stunning and inspires emotion without even reading your artist notes. A beautiful composition with artfully chosen edits. Lovely photo the monocromatic use of black and white is very good, good light coming froom the moon which creates a path through the rocks giving depth and perspective to the photo. As for the text it gives hoop to others. Well done my friend.

Oh I am not sure what to comment on first here BB Steve....your words....your image or what you have done to it...lol

OK then- the image. I just LOVE these ocean scenes of yours.....so much emotion in this one. As you know I am not typically a huge fan of B&W but doing up this piece in B&W was such a good idea. You say in your methods section that there is "a bit of color" don't see it but don't need it. I love the texture of the rock in the foreground...the timing of the waves breaking on the rocks mid-frame and the blackness of the night broken up by the clouds and that crazy orb of a moon. You have become quite the deft hand at manipulating your images BB. Whatever you've done to this one is perfect! I like it a LOT.

Damn...lol...I've rambled on and not even mentioned your words here....but I like them as much- if not more than the image. So the entire deal...images, notes and your work- get one of my gold stars. Oh and been meaning to tell you that I like your new personal page image too- although I know that's not what it's called...lol...sorry. You know what I mean I'm sure. On my way out to pick blackberries....out of time but wonderful work here.

BB Deborah

You know it has never occurred to me to have any of my pictures framed. Duh. Thanks for your idea We slow learners need outside help!

lol....it never occurred to me either until I joined FAR and reviewers said "you should frame this" Even had some printed on really nice canvas. Your B&W one would look good that way.
