Does resemble a sombrero; love the yellow leaves, nice and bright; like the middle of the flower as it mixes up things and helps it all stand out; good contrast of yellow petals and the green stems/grass; reminds me of a meadow or Spring time; looks like you really take good care of your garden; stay clear of those big rocks. Hope it all goes well up there. Til next time.

So glad you are back home safe, sound and relatively unscathed Swimmer....and that you took the time to check out my latest post....and THEN shared a gold star w/ it. One of the brightest flowers in my late summer gardens so thank you for the wonderful review and very generous rating. I do appreciate it.

Leave it to the Botanical Queen to find something like this growing in her garden. It must be the most special place on earth to grow something as awesome as this. At least people knew then that flowers and plants had much more going for them than just a pretty sight. Medicinal products seem to be a wonderful byproduct that was worth of praise. Great, as always.

'Botanical Queen' LOL love that Mama M!! I am always happy to find you at the end of a review of one of my pieces and, as always, you've given this guy a wonderful one. Thank you so much. I do really appreciate it.

This is a capture I cannot stop studying. It is beautiful in the amount of vibrant colors you have captured behind this beautiful yellow. The light you had gave you such glorious shades of greens, blues, lavenders and pinks...all in small areas but so many different values to each color. The dark stems in the bg are trying to create an abstract effect to this overall frame. And there is the stage for this lively and interesting beauty of a flower. The yellows are magnificent. Excellent job with your camera and your natural light! The clarity of that dark cone in the center. I would love to see the seed heads as more of them open. Very interesting notes. Thank you for those. It is always such a pleasure to view your beautiful work in your gardens and behind your camera. Thanks for taking time out to share with us here on FAR. As I am sure you are non stop busy these days.

awwww...your reviews are always so good Becky. That seed head- just as you thought- is really fascinating. You can see in the image here up on the top left corner where the seeds have started their 'hairy' formation- getting ready to fly away. I know I have photos taken a day and two days after this one....although I haven't had time to check them out yet but sometime in the future I will post one - it gives this blossom an even more ruffled look...lol Not one of my most elegant flowers but that's one of things I love about it. Thank you so much for checking it out....and giving it such a wonderful review.....and always commenting on my notes....which were REALLY a tad long-winded this time...lol...just such an interesting little blossom w/ a whole lot to say I guess. Anyway, appreciate it all Becky. Thank you.

Nice flowy feel to this upload...did you use a bit of a smudge on the petals?

The purple tint behind the flower takes away from visual impact but not enough to warrant a deduction of stars.

LOL....I know what the word means Olga but have no idea how it's done in relation to photos. I'm afraid my post-processing skills are embarrassingly simple. The 'purple tint' behind the blossom is actually one of the white granite rocks making up the wall that surrounds the RATIBIDA bed....had to be my angle and the light that gave it that 'glow' Appreciate your generosity not knocking me for it. Thank you so much for having a look at this piece.

A beautiful shot. I like the disarray of the yellow petals. Very nice tight cropping and great saturated colors. The flower is shown in fine detail.

It is, without a doubt, the brightest and deepest yellow of any of my yellow flowers Seshadri. It REALLY stands out in my gardens. Thank you so much for having a look and I do really appreciate the lovely review you've given it.

This is another fine work of art from you my friend. I like the clarity and focus that you achieved. The macro effect really makes the flower stand out. I'm not even going to try to pronounce it. Whatever post-processing you did was perfect. Late afternoon the lighting is very well done. Thank you so much for sharing.

It's easier than it looks to pronounce Paul. RATIBIDA= rat-i-beed-a -no need to worry about the species name after it lol As for post processing...I'm afraid I don't use anything fancy like many here do. I use a free program and rarely do anything other than crop and sharpen a bit as I write in my methods section. I use time of day (light) and my camera settings to get the image I want. Photographing the same flowers season after season has taught me a lot about how best to present them. Always happy to see YOU at the end of a review. Thank you so much Paul for the lovely review you've given this little guy.
