The photographer did a great job of capturing this moment in time. The image is pretty dynamic, giving the viewer visual information about this animal. I might have left a little more space at the top when cropping.

Yes, that's definitely wide enough! I didn't know hippos or anything else could open their mouth that wide. Great sharpness, detail, and clarity in the photo.

Brilliant capture in which this hippo is nearly at full 180 degree reach with it's deadly jaws; I hate to imagine what it'd be like to end up in them (although it probably wouldn't last long!). Perfect timing, excellent lighting and clarity, and cropped perfectly to the centre with no distraction, contrasting well with the murky water in which it bathes. The side on POV is perfect for the shot also; a cyber 6 on this one my friend, great work and best of luck in your competition! :)
