I am a sucker for anything orange this time of year.
this piece really is eye catching with the bright oranges and yellows of the sunrise to the mellow muted blues and grays of the ocean.
Very peaceful.

Looks like a great scene to have witnessed! Your nice and traditional composition gives us a very enjoyable look at your location. I do feel though that the horizon needs straightening. Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done and good luck!

Thank you very much! I appreciate your comments. I thought the horizon looked a tad tilted too, but I measured it across the screen and it is level. I think the grouping of clouds makes it look heavier on the one side, maybe the background waves have something to do with it too - dunno, but I thought the same thing until I measured it. Again, thank you for the nice review :)

Thanks! I wonder if it would be better if I did tilt it some, just to counter balance the illusion :) I think having it look straight might be more important than it actually being straight!

This is indeed a spectacular sunrise Grace, and I especially like how the first rays from the sun are reflected in the foreground waves. The colors in the sky are amazing and it almost looks like it was on fire.
I also like a lot the waves you have captured in the foreground and how sharp and well defined they are. The also add both interest and depth to the photo.
The format and the framing is perfect and with the waves in the foreground the rule of thirds is indeed working well. A truly lovely and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.
