This is quite an amazing sculpture...truly. The artistry in it's creation has been laced with the memories that many hold for our veterans. The 'strength' it took for this artist to cut through this steel; the "perseverance" while in time spent when probably tired; and the heart put into the vision of the beauty of our country....and our Earth . This is an inspiring work and I thank you for this excellent capture with your camera. Perfectly framed to capture not on the view through the silhouettes, but the edges as well....gives it the depth of perspective that it demands. Excellent!!!! Good luck~

Thanks for the great review and interest in this shot.
I thought is was great that an investment was made in the sculpture to make us aware of the needs of returning Vets.
It was exceedingly creative.

I can so identify with the saying on the plaque. I retired from the Army with 26 total years of service and worked for the VA as a Readjustment Counselor. I worked with combat veterans who experienced some pretty tough things while deployed in combat zones. As a veteran of four tours in Afghanistan, I can relate to readjusting to civilian life and how difficult it is to become 'normal' again. I recently retired from the therapist roll with the VA but I do stay in touch with those who are really having a difficult time. I do so appreciate this post and the symbolism of how many feel like "An Empty Space". Best of fortune in the contest ~ Steve

Thanks for all of your service to America, without your service and the many others like you, we would not have our freedom.
This image sure does relate to your background.
I was humbled by the sculpture when I first saw it.
Thanks for your awesome review!

What a wonderful inspiration. This is a deeply moving piece...especially for those of us from military families who have been the caretakers of those who have dealt with those struggles. Thank you for posting this memorable tribute.
