I agree with you. I am very touched by your memorial as I just lost my older brother due to the brain cancer he got from extensive exposure to agent orange during the Vietnam Nam war. I miss him every day.

    Linda,
Thanks a million for your review on this memorial to the fallen all wars are horrific & the physical & mental injuries the young men & women receive are to terrible to imagine sometimes these are almost worse that death. My condolences to you on your brother's loss.

Your beautiful image and thoughtful poem certainly do justice and rememberannce to the fallen. Both the first and second world wars caused both sides of my family considerable loss and suffering. Such work as yours displayed here though helps to ease things somewhat at this sad time! Nicely done!

    Nik,
Thanks a million for your heartfelt words. I'm glad you liked it both my parents were born during he First world War, both my Grandmothers died along with my Grandfather & his brother who is remembered on the Menin Gate I was born during the Second world War during which my Father served in the RAF...he was horrified to know how many of the young Pilots he taught to Fly were killed often on their First Operational Raid over France or Germany... It's so important that we never forget their sacrifice & the Families they left behind.

Yes, you are absolutely correct that we must go on remembering them so that we reduce the chances of world wars happening again.

This is a great dedication to all of our fallen soldiers. The poem is written by a lieutenant couldn't have been a better pick. The poppies surrounding your grandfather's cross is a dedication and honor to your grandfather. I like the way that you put the whole artwork and tribute together.

I do have a picture of my Grandfather's Official Headstone but to me it does not show the true horror of war in a way that the battlefield cross does with the silhouetted crosses behind Grandfather's

Today is the anniversary of the end of the First world War in which my Grandfather, his brother & thousands of others gave their lives. The Red Poppy is the flower we use to remember them as quoted in the Poem written by Lieutentant John Mc Crae a doctor who served in the First world war.
