The firstthing that catches the eye is the colour that is uniform through out the composition which is so pleasing to view. The light and shadows and the composition have worked. Good framing in the vertical format. Good luck in the contest!well.

Oh I love this art. When I look at this picture, I instantly become this Bluethroat, I could feel the breeze and hear other Bluethroats around me. I enjoy your use of color...the different greens and purples. Fantastic job by a fantastic artist.

Nice job on this Linda. I like the purple and lavender.
Your sky and horizon line as always are quite dramatic and sublime at the same time!
The lupines are quite nice.
The bird is pretty good, but looks a little flat to me.
I think it needs some more shadow and rendering to help it pop out from the background.
The blue on its throat needs shading and tones to blend into the bird.
Overall though, it is beautiful.
This would make a beautiful tea towel print!

Thanks. I am going to try to fix the bird. It bothers me too. Sometimes we have to leave th8ngs for a while and come back to it.

Nice effort in creating this lovely scene. Great work blending considering the paper. The colors are soft and pastel. The Bluethroat is a bit out of proportion with the throat looking large compared to the head orientation of the bird. You posed the body nicely facing forward. The head might have been facing a bit more to the birds left. Not so much as to distract from your wonderful work however. Best of luck in the contest ~ Steve

This is such a beautiful painting. I love the lavender colors in the flowers and even in the sky. I don't think that I have ever seen that kind of bird before, but you did a beautiful job with it. This is an amazing composition. Well done and thank you for sharing this with us :)
