Another great piece in this amazing and true labour of love you are creating in this series, capturing this lady nude, dignified and in various poses on the floor, showing great expression like in this piece, with her holding her head almost expressing pain or anguish, or grief - captured wonderfully by yourself not just in the facial features but in the expression which really makes the piece comes to life with her contorted body emphasising this further. Forgive me if I have misinterpreted it, or missed a point in your informative narrative. The female form and curves, shapes and skin colour are incredible and as always lifelike, as well as the rich brown-red hair which flows onto the ground carelessly. Set against the fading brown background which accentuates the light pigment of her skin and body tone that you have chosen/the model naturally has, this is a fantastic piece and a true work of art, great job and well done :)

great presentation of this portrait that is structured beautifully with the body form portrayed so well and its composition eye catching through its twisted composition. The tonal control has been achieved well throughout

Well done, Carl. Thanks for your most thorough artist notes. It is interesting to read your thoughts as you created this nude. Your journey in discovering the shadows needed to give form and depth and luminance to this figure was a complete success. Congratulations on that. Again...thank you for your time spent on your notes.. They are so worth reading while enjoying your artistry here. thank you for sharing. excellent work!

Amazing talent! Your proportions are well rendered. Your coloring is well displayed. I believe you could make any woman look beautiful. There are many steps to your creations drawing pastels oil shading and painting. This is masterful!

Thank you for your five star vote and your comments. And, I have been told something like that before related to a few portraits. Of course I never told them what a struggle it was to remove a few dozen wrinkles here and there, cut a few fat folds and make the eyes larger while keeping the portrait looking like them.

You have given such "curve perfection"!!! Of course the first thought in my mind was... wish it were me. LOL Great strength in the highlight and shadow of your oil strokes. The detail over this lady is divine and natural. Thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest!

Good job on this nude. I agree that figuring out the lighting on a human form is difficult. This was posted in the November Open challenge? I am just now seeing it. I did not
Join FAR until last month. I saw your other nude which also impressed me. Nice composition and framing. Good clarity. A good entry for the contest. Thank you for sharing and best of luck with this image

After seeing your EB II this morning Carl I thought I'd come have a look at the first one.

Wonderful notes...truly. I really enjoyed following your thought processes as you worked on his piece. Now I really like this one as well. In fact, I think I like the pose even more than II. You got the stretch absolutely perfect and the musculature involved w/ that stretch is just outstanding. Again, the tones and color of the skin are beautiful. Hands, and feet....fingers and toes are so natural and true and I always imagine toes being so difficult to show naturally. Yours are perfect here. Another exquisitely done face....but I'd pick the other one just for the eyes...lol

Background, as in the other one, does nothing but make the nude look better. Color selection was ideal. Just a gorgeous pair of paintings here Carl. You do really lovely work.
