Very amazing artwork with a super message to tell. The figure in the very background looks like the statue of Lincoln. There is a Godlike face beneath him which leads your eye to the down-trodden man stuck in a wine glass. The girl reaching down for his hand is very emotional. It looks as if the man in the glass is staring at perhaps pictures of his life and family. The glasses with a book show that the man is extremely smart, perhaps a professor or doctor. This is a wonderful artwork and great contest entry. Good luck and keep showing us your amazing work. Karen

Oh Gosh....do I ever read a lot into this surreal, dream like image MoonWillow.
Because I live in Thailand and we see young young girls with "daddy's" (sugar daddys) everywhere that is where your art takes me, and I know that is not your intention.
The colours are splendid and how you did this through layer work and composed it beautifully is masterful.
That old man in dead center frightens me even further...old men ready to grab the "girl" and the girl willing to take herself out of poverty. How curious that you have her on a pile of books for these girls are usually poor, uneducated and willing to prostitute themselves using alcohol to deaden their plight.
The flow of colours from magenta/purple to yellow to earthy tones feels like a balm and makes this image mesmerizing.

Olga, thank you so much! Your read on this never crossed my mind, BUT IT SURE FITS, LOL. Again, I sincerely thank you. Very interesting comments. Being a photographer, I imagine you see a lot! I really feel sorry for those girls, but some of them wouldn't have it any other way, and some try desperately to get away from it all.

When I bitch and barf at some of the sights of old men with little girls my husband always brings me down to earth saying "it is a business deal and they are both happy" LEAVE THEM ALONE OLGA. It's just that some of these old men are real bottom feeders and the girls put up with a lot of crap. Ahhhh don't get me started.
There is a joke in Thailand about books and reading :
"When in Thailand where can you put your money so it will be safe?"
Answer: in a book.
