Wow, this is so supreme. Perfect shot for us to ponder over while he takes a bite. Lighting is spot on. Its head is positioned so well with those eyes just peeking out The hand that it eats from is perfect there. Love your BG with that boulder hardly there. Your great!

There was no way I could pass this up without using my last six. This is an amazing capture. I would love to know your camera settings here. As your control of light and shadows is amazing. The initial impact being just that...the profile that you have created with those lights in those deep shadows. The eye is a gift to your viewer. As they have chosen to study this from an initial impact of a dramatic composition. But as they (I) view it longer there are other treasures...the eye, the green grass that is the morning munch and the lines creating the facial expression. One of the more artistic captures of a gorilla that I have seen. Thank you for sharing.

Gorgeous portrait, I think you did a really nice job capturing a wonderful candid shot of this Gorilla. You have certainly captured the Gorilla expressions and emotion and by playing with light and contrast captured his individual character. Your spot on sharp focus and good lighting revealing excellent details on the fur and markings of this gorgeous creature. Perfectly framed and well composed shot. A good composition and very well done! Thanks for sharing!

Excellent choice of subject with sharply focused fine facial features & smooth textures.
Well, this has an almost studio shot feel!
An artistic rendition.
Monochromatic colors but the addition of the verdant grass gives the needed punch!

Excellent details & features. Impressive setting & textures.
Dramatic illumination--a bit of chiaroscuro.
Thanks for sharing...

Quite an atmospheric animal portrait posted here! Your almost classical composed portrait of the gorilla provides us with a good and enjoyable look at him. Sharpness and exposure are good. Nicely taken!

Sort of reminds me of a still from a planet of the apes movie this, reason I say this is its munching but at the same time keeping an eye on something, his look also looks menacing slightly, think this would have beeneven better had we seen a bit more of its eyes, but still thinkits good...brian

I like the low key effect used here which draws towards the face and light in the centre, you have captured the emotion and feeling of this lovely animal
I like the tight framing, and light in the centre is excellent.
