Hmmm I have to disagree from personal experience about the crime/London Sheffield comparison, I've found it quite the opposite, although not spent a huge amount of time in London admittedly because it is a grim, depressing and filthy place in my view. Sheffield, though it has its problems, is a diverse and fascinating place and you have captured the essence of that very well in this piece, particularly the leaning emphasis that is visually very apparent and a brilliant trick on the mind of the viewer, that shows real skill in your artistry. The sloping rows of rooftops, the few trees and the hills above, all mixed up with eye catching shapes and patterns and a great range of vibrant and lively colours makes for great visual stimulus overall, a well painted and lovely piece, well done :)

broken in again last Sunday, two folders of 90 sketches stolen, yesterday whilst at the Jesus centre painting, a folder poetry stolen. Since I moved in here 2015 Christmas, 1600 paintings, 1100 sketches , 3000+ poems and 300+ stories 56 personal diaries etc has all been looted and goods? I have nothing left, chinese presents etc Police have been and say Looting is no longer a crime. I know all most of them, they walk round me sneering..mainly West Indians who turn the poetry into rap, they used to get old english school books the schools were destroying before as they are generally poor to very poor IQ and cannot write properly- they receive the Royalties, as I have nothing from my 35 years of daily endless hard work. they even used my German MA literature!!-- and they sell the paintings to art dealers who says there will be a big demand for them lalter on.. So I cannot agree with you on that one but otherwise Sheffield is a fresh city. In London, the cockneys one and all tried to protect me, a lone old lady teacher..

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that. That is terrible and certainly puts things in perspective regarding your views and attitudes in that case. One day when I am finally over in Sheffield, perhaps when my father is working I'll pop by for a glass of wine or something, I feel so bad that people are stealing from you at all, especially your art and poetry. Keep your head high and keep painting/writing, they can't take that! :)
