thanks,,,it is very interesting to see all the reviews I get, some like the branch and the natural settings, and some think it distracts

A sweet capture of this little sparrow in its natural habitat. I like the muted colours in the back ground, nice eye clarity. Very natural and well done with the shot in those conditions.

Lise,
A wonderful picture of this Chipping Sparrow watching you from it's perch in the leafless tree or bush I'm happy you left the branches in front of the Sparrow as it makes it real for me, birds don't know about "studio" portraits. Beautiful artistic composition, beautiful framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

You did an amazing job with the conditions, particularly walking a dog - Great focus on the little sparrow that looks all puffed up against the cold winds. Nice blurred background. :) Mary

this is a wonderful portrait of this sparrow . the background is blurred an that helps with the details and textures of the sparrows feathers and adds to the colors also, a pleasure to look at. Thank you for sharing. dale

Lise, what I like about this post is how you have captured this with blurred branches in front of the little bird. That effect is called "witnessing" and we are priviledged to look into your shot and find a sweet little denizen of North Bay looking back at us.

The bird is soft. BUT , sometimes that is just fine because , well, after all birds are soft and fragile.

The pose in avian photography matters a lot and they say that if the eye has been caught sharp the bird follows.

I also like the centered composition.

This is very nice and I give you full marks.

A very nice bird shot posted here, but where in the world was it taken? Your nice sparrow shot benefits from a good central composition, it's sharp and well exposed. Well done and good luck!
