What a sweet shot of this beloved pet. Excellent focus and exposure. Love the tilt of the head and the crop. Love the bit of snow on the nose. I would suggest cloning it the dart spot in the top left corner and the bit of grass above the upper ear. Then print and hang this wonderful shot!

The lighting, DOF, and cropping is fabulous. You perhaps could photoshop out but of darkness in the upper right corner.
Great shot overall and I totally love and agree with your narrative. My babies are my heart, especially my boy "Deek" and my little girl "Ziva".
People whom do not love cats and dogs are pretty much not welcome to our house.
