WOW ! This is really a great looking macro shot, and I like everything about it. Especially the way the light is falling in from the left, and also the nicely softened background. It makes the insect stand out in an almost 3D way.
Your focus is spot on and sharp showing really clear and well defined details of the legs and head of the fly. You have even captured a fine shine in the eyes because of a perfect exposure.
The photo is nicely cropped and the fly has got a very good placement off to the right. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.
