What a beautiful shot. The details and the colors are really incredible. There is so much to keep the viewer exploring the image. The lights coming out of the mosque windows are so cool. The colors in the sky...perfection. Best of luck in the contest and thanks for sharing this lovely shot.

Thank you for the good artists notes and storytelling with your image. A magnificent panoramic view showing the vastness of this beautiful Mosque. So beautiful are the colors in the sky but it's that sunset illuminate though the building drawing the eye into your photography. What a magnificent architectural design. So beautiful are the colors in the sky but it's that sunset illuminate though the building drawing the eye into your photography. What a magnificent architectural design. help to set the scene and tell the story, you have done this place proud with your wonderful capture, love the graduating colour in the sky which really enhances those domes and columns, I like the capture
of the people in front of the mosque as it adds interest and after all this is a people place 40,000
worshippers wow. the letter box framing is very apt for this huge building.
a truly well taken photograph taken at the right time of day for maximum impact. a pleasure to view. thanks so much.

This is indeed a beautiful place and with the sunset sky even more so. I was reading your notes as well and was especially fascinated with the huge carpet.
The mosque is standing out so sharp and well defined against the beautiful sky, and the warm and inviting light is so lovely.
I like the way you have cropped the photo into a panorama format and the mosque is well placed within the frame. A truly beautiful and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

A fantastic panoramic capture of this magnificent building that stands out like something from a movie. You would have thought without reading the narrative that this was an ancient palace and not a relatively modern Mosque, they have clearly kept in tradition well with the style. The lighting in this capture is superb and shows the slow fade from the blue sky above to the orange glow of the sunset on the horizon behind the mosque, which makes the large building glow wonderfully. The clarity is fantastic and the long DOF still retains the details and orange and gold decorations of the exterior of the building, and also the orange glow shining through each of the windows on the ground level which is a nice touch and contrasts well with the stony white of the mosque's stone structure. A nice view of the fore of the landmark as other visitors stand in the large open space in front, giving a good idea of proportion and scale. A good entry for the competition that is tightly cropped and captured from a great point of view, good luck in the polls! ;)

It's my pleasure, and thanks very much for those very kind words - I must admit (sounding arrogant) when I read some of the efforts people put into their reviews it irritates me!! Or am I lucky enough to be simply gifted as I am regularly told with my articulation of english grammar? who knows......I do know that it is a numbers game for the ranking on here, but I love to review so it suits me fine. This a winner for sure. How beautiful and unique at the same time. I love the color of background and the outline of the buildings against it. Thank you for the information provided about this place. My son was just there working in Abu Dhabi. I had no idea what was there . I hope he took some photos. So much great architecture in many parts of the world.
