I do believe that birds are getting easier to approach and don't seem bothered by humans taking their photos. You have captured a nice shot of this seagull relaxing. The picture is sharply focused. The background with the light white circles is very pleasing to the eye and harmonizes with the subject.

A clean and sharp presentation here with attention given to colour palette which is coordinated and pleasing. Bokeh is perfect as is the eye catch.
I checked to see if you have overexposed and have blown out the white...you have not...there is photographic information on the white...good exposure and this was taken on a bright sunny day, so you nailed it! I love the quality of light and the light source is clearly seen.
The bird is captivated by your lens and is looking straight at us and we at him, the eye is sharp and when the eye is sharp the bird folows.
It is curious that for a portrait you used a landscape orientation format. Have you tried portrait format for this piece?
Lovely through and through with good tonal quality, well contrasted ...a photo that sings of sunshine & a warm summer day.

A very nice portrait of the gull.
Lighting is great, as is the bokeh.
I like the sharpness of the exposure and the clear eye.
An interesting looking gull, especially with the blue wing and markings on the bill. This is different than any gull I have seen here on the east coast of Canada.

Your very kind review is very much appreciated, glad you like the photo! Got me stumped though referring to the "Chiarosco Effect?

Those circles of light in the background. There are filters to add that effect to enhance the scene. It is a technique of working with light in a photo.

Yes, it is beautiful! It never ceases to amaze me how these voracious scavengers can manage to look so pristine. And they look very much the same where ever you find them. He looks very nice against the soft grey background. He is sharp and fits nicely into the frame. A very nice capture.

great close up. brilliant in educational detail. shows so much of both the bird and colours in the beak. a fab artistic study, that a skilled artist could take for a pencil or coloured drawing.

This is a wonderful close-up shot of the bird! . You have timed it well. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!
