Galia,
Thanks a million for your great review on this cheeky Robin.
It's not fat but has puffed up it's feathers against the freezing temperatures that morning

It's such a healthy little thing , I don't think she misses many meals .
Your focus and clarity are outstanding from the patterns in her tail feathers to the reflection in her eye .
It's a very cool piece and thank you for sharing

John,
Thanks a million for your great review on this cheeky Robin.
It's NOT fat just has it's feathers puffed up against the cold it was hovering around freezing that morning with a thick hoar frost, the Bird's drinking bowl/bird bath was frozen solid. We get very little snow compared with the USA so if you see no snow in my pictures & puffed up birds you can assume it is COLD out there.

This is a lovely shot of the bird. You have framed it well.! The light and shadows and the framing makes the image to pop up. Good effort!

This is a lovely close up Susan. You have captured nice detail of his little face and feathers and the colors are nicely exposed too. How fun to have him come to your call! I like their rounded heads and the puff to their feathers. They are so much different than the robins we have here.

Grace,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this cheeky Robin.
Yes they are very different from the American Robin which is in the family of Thrushes while our Robin is a Flycatcher & about he same size as a House Sparrow.

Cool,Susan!
It certainly is an attractively colorful little thing and your photo of it perching on the small branches of the bushes makes foe a nicely enjoyable image!

He looks rather well fed, and I just love his coloring.
Excellent focus and clarity with beautiful detail. He really let you get a beautiful shot!
The background is very nice,
And not distracting.

Marsha,
Thanks a million for your great review on this Robin with feathers puffed up against the cold..... I had to break the ice on the Birds Drinking bowl it was solid ice that morning the temperature around 32F or 0C ...thankfully we seldom get snow that lasts for more than a day in dublin.

The Robin is one of my favorite birds, because it is so truly cute. Some times I see one in my garden, but not as often as I would have liked to. You have captured this little beauty so well Susan, and I also like the background of branches. It is also nicely softened for the bird to stand out in the most excellent way.
Your photo is also sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the bird, and the exposure is just perfect.
The tight framing is working well and the Robin has got a fine placement within the frame. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.

Annie,
Thanksa milion for your detailed & complementary review on this little Robin.
Did you ever get freeze dried meal worm.(They are clean to handle & don't wriggle)..they just love them & so do the Blue, Great & Coal Tits, not forgetting the Sparrows & Starlings.

I am sure we can get hold of them here in Norway as well, but I have never tried. We feed the birds the whole winter and it is quite a few kilos of sun seeds and peanuts bought in. Robins are of course not here in winter, but we do see them in summer.

An adorable image of this European robin puffed up against the elements, good eye clarity great focus to capture all the feather details
Natural setting. Love robin's a pleasure to view, it's lovely when they are so tame and come close. Lovely.

Jo,
Thanks a million for your great review on this little Robin that came when I called it yesterday. There are two of them in my garden this winter one day I counted three that came to the feeders one after the other.
Susan
-
We had three also today
Put out plenty of food we always
Say they are lost loved ones coming
To visit, I have put a window feeder
On the bedroom window and the
Robins come on that as well as the
Blue tits.
