A definite cyber 6 for this one! Yes, they do come pretty close when they know you. We have one which comes within a foot or so when we put bird feed out! Your photo is nicely composed, sharp and has good exposure. Nicely done!

    Nik,
Thanks a million for your complementary review & the Cyber six rating which is welcome. In the severe winter of 2010 I could get within an arms length of the Robin that came to get Meal Worms (Freeze died) that I put out for it.

What a great capture of this puffy little bird. Our robins are more elongated and not as cute as this one. The composition is spot on with the surrounding branches and the framing of the bird. Nice soft colors complete this photo and make it a joy to view.

    Karen,
Thanks a million both for your great review & the SIX star rating which is most welcome.
Our Robins are about the same size as a House Sparrow. The American Robin is twice the size & is a Thrush while ours is a Flycatcher. This one is puffed up against the cold.

    Fred,
Merci beaucoup mille fois for your great review.
Other birds are NOT so friendly to humans as the Robin is & will fly off if I move at all. The Robin will come with in ten centimetres outside in the garden.

A cute but fluffier one this time.
Is it really fat or just normal?

Superb up close & personal.
Was this zoomed in or cropped?

Diffused focusing.
Subdued lighting.
Ideal framing.

Almost monochromatic color scheme...

Nice perspective & narrow DOF.

Thanks for sharing...

    Dickson,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this puffed up Robin.
It was VERY Cold the temperature was just 2 degrees Centigrade above freezing at the time. When it's cold the birds fluff out their feathers to keep warm so looking rounder in the body is normal, when it warms up they return to their normal slim selves.

Have never seen a robin with a orange breast. Here, it is that the robin red breast arrive and becomes active eating grubs and worms in the grass. The bird is taken in very good and has great clarity. The background is a bit busy. Thank you for sharing and best of luck with this image

    Pamela,
Thanks a million for your complementary review.
This is an European Robin that is about the same size as a House Sparrow half the size of your American Robin.

Susan, doesn't it just make your heart soar when you have an experience like this. I think this little one may be a tad soft and sometimes that is just fine because, after all, he is. That orange throat really sings out to us and the background is colour coordinated and does not take away from the overall beauty of your image.

    Olga,
Thanks a million for your great review on this little Robin.
It was a point shoot & click picture I had not time to do anything else.
It looked sharp enough on my screen
