Wonderful crisp focus....such great natural color and a reflection to die for. The reflection as well detailed as your Heron itself. May be cropped ever so slightly tight top frame but your Heron himself is just gorgeous. Gold star for both of you Fred...lol

Fred,
A beautiful picture of this elegant Grey Heron standing thigh deep in mirror still water on which there's is a perfect mirror reflection plus the bonus one of it's head. The sunbeam filtering down though the trees above light up the Heron while leaving the background dark. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

I really like this photograph and herons in general. I thought a blue and a gray heron look the same. Then, your photo showed me that the blue is on top of their head. I think below the head, blue and gray are very similar. Nice that the angles gave you that perfect reverse image reflection. Thank you for sharing and best of luck with this image

I don't see any blue.....but if you see some blue it could be the reflection of the blue sky on the white feathers.....
