Magnificent Capture Barbara!
I have never seen one in person..only in photos.
You have gorgeous colors, sharp focus, great eye clarity with bonus catch light and fine feather details.
Great DOF and fab diagonal Placement.
Nice work Barbara!

Outstanding shot. Excellent exposure and focus. Color is vivid but natural. Love the catch light in the eye and the diagonal line of the twig. Love the bokah in the background. Lovely light on the bird. Well cropped, though I might have left a tad more room out front of the bird, but that is personal taste. Really beautiful.

A wonderful picture of this Cedar Waxwing Barbara. I have seen them in large groups eating red berries from bush. Nice soft background that enhances the bird. Good placement in the frame. Focus is sharp and colors are nicely rendered. It is just a touch on the pale side and a hint of saturation to enrich those colors would make this one a knock out. Good eye and skill for getting this image Barbara ~ Steve

Wow! A visually appealing capture with its body in a diagonal positioning.
Graceful pose full of chatm!
Sharply focused.
Fine features & textures.

Soft bokeh effect backdrop.
Verdant overtone!

Should be in a Bird contest!

This is a very lovely capture of the waxwing Barbara! Ive always loved these beautiful little birds but have never ever seen one! I think we have them around here in Virginia and when I grew up we had lots of cedar trees but can't ever recall seeing one. This is tack sharp with plenty of details. Love your great point of focus and shallow depth of field for great background blur. Wonderful colors and color harmony. Excellent visual and initial impact. Your lighting and exposure are stellar. Great techniques and high technical excellence.
A winner!

Congrats!

I never saw a cedar waxwing before, but it looks like a beautiful bird. And the way you have captured and framed him is done in an appealing way. The background colors match the colors in the bird. Very nice.

It is not often I see this bird any more, but it is truly lovely, and you have pictured it so well. I especially like the completely softened background, and how lovely the light is falling on it.

Your photo is also nice and sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the bird. The exposure is very good, but perhaps the photo could do with just a tad more contrast.

The photo is nicely cropped and the bird has got a very good placement within the frame. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo Barbara, and with an excellent DOF.

Just beautiful ! This is very similar to the Bohemian Waxwings we have here in Alaska, you have captured this so well, good detail on the smooth body feathers, good eye contact, beautiful colors, stands out so well against the clear background. This was a pleasure to view !
