An interesting initial impact.

I've reviewed a lot whose entry seems not showing the bark but the hard wood underneath itself...


Sharply focused.
Fine features & textures.
Bright lighting.
Pin sharp focusing.
Impressive framing.

I'm just concerned as the photo police could be so strict & meticulous as I've been DQed so many times in the past!
Sometimes I have a phobia in joining contests already...

Very good entry for the contest. I like the angle you used for this shot of the tree stump, showing the smooth and rougher parts of the bark as it protrudes from the bank with the grasses in the foreground adding interest. The colors are fantastic! That water is so inviting and attractive with the ripples. The bark looks great in the sunlight and the smoothness shows well. The diagonal framing works perfectly!

Not sure if this is a good entry for the competition! This is because I cannot see much in the way of bark! The tree trunk is great though!! Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done and good luck!

thanks for your review the bark is smooth showing not all bark is rough, but I understand what you are saying,

That is a cool shot of this tree stump and it's bark. The photo is crystal clear with a good focus throughout. The angle of the tree stump on the hillside makes a wonderful and interesting composition and photo. Love the water with it's soft ripples and reflection. Best of luck in the contest.

This is very simple and enjoyable to view, I like trees and tree stumps too, nice detail, nice setting, well focused, beautiful blue water background really draws the eye to this stump. Well composed and presented !
