Your work with the pallet knife is so smooth that one can barely tell you used the knife! The colors of the water and the highlights from the moon are beautiful. I like how well you have created drama in the sky around the moonlight too.

Very mysterious moonlit landscape painting. It would make a great contest entry. The water feels like it is rushing towards you. You can feel a chill in the air. Nice framing and details throughout this pleasant landscape artwork. Nice work and good luck in the contest.

Carl this is truly lovely. I love your colorization throughout the scene. The sky is amazing with its many hues and dimension. The water a wonderful turquoise blue. I am glad you "remembered" this scene so you could recreate it and share with us. Thank you for that. Great contest entry. true contender. Best of luck!

This is just beautiful, Carl! Presentation and visual impact are dramatic. The color harmony is so pleasing. Highlighting and shading are perfectly rendered! Texture is nice and the palette knife brings your painting to life! Such a gorgeous entry for the moonlight contest! Thanks for sharing and good luck!

Aptly captured for the contest theme...
Excellent choice of subject.
Dramatic rendition in soothing bluish overtone.
Diminishing perspective.
Vanishing viewpoint.
Impressive entry. Potential voters choice...

Best of luck in the contest! Thanks for sharing...

First of all...thank you for the thorough artist notes. It is such a pleasure to know what inspires an artist. Imagining you and your Doxie out in the middle of the night viewing this beautiful scene is just the icing on the cake when viewing this work of art from such a talented hand and mind. I have attempted a pallet knife.. with frustration. I am encouraged when you stated it took you four years to feel some level of confidence with your knife. And I love seeing where your brush work is and where your knife work is. You have absolutely created the reflection of the moon in the areas that were created with your knife. The sky is surreal and tumultuous in contrast with your water. It adds drama and imagination to your knife work. I like the two on the same canvas. It is quite a pleasure to view. Thank you again for your notes. You are very talented Artist Carl!

Thank you for your five star vote and your comments. It is a pleasure to me when another person enjoys my work. It is even more satisfying when another person feels encouraged. Thank you for saying so. I am now into eight years of pallet knife training and am now getting the "feel" of it. Starting to think about doing a few still life paintings with the technique.

Oh I hope you do a still life! That is what i wanted to do with the knife...a large(I just used the canvas for our granddaughter) vibrant, floral for over the fireplace in the summer.. Maybe one day.. :D

Hi ArtistCarl

Wow. What a lovely dreamy piece this is. Looks like somethign from medieval lore and I half expect an enchanting wraith to emerge from the depths of the lake to issue a warning. Lovely stuff and good luck! R

Hey, Artist Carl, this is a very enchanting picture. The clouds, their color, and shape, are quite ethereal. The lake is beautiful. What a wonderful view of your experience.
