Hi Lynnkah thanks for sharing this stunning artwork Quiet seas in blue. You certainly have achieved that bluish hue in a beautifully rendered scene.. Love the blended sky with its pastel shades ranging from blue/ greens through to the golden sheen that lines the horizon. Splendid in ever way and most appealing to the eye. The ocean and its amazing brush strokes give the impression of movement as the waves swell behind the sailing boat. Excellent choice of colour tones used to create the lights and darks in the water. They enhance the ripples and movement of the sea. The sailing ship is well placed and allows the eye to move forward, anticipating the winds that are blowing into the lightly billowing sails. The angle of the boat sitting in the water gives the impression of motion as the boat rocks upon the water's surface. I love the detail forming the mast and the shading that tones nicely with both the sea and sky.. Excellent lighting effects on the water from the suns rays.. The setting sun on the horizon is a nice touch and brings warmth to the scene. Thanks for sharing this gem. a pleasure to review. best of luck in the contest. cheers mel

I love this picture. In spite of your explanation I am not sure how you accomplished this as I use acrylic, but this is so alive ,both sky and sea. Of course the ship emphasizes the rough waves. Really beautiful.

thank you Joyce. guess my notes weren't very clear. sorry about that. I used twisted brush and did a rough sketch first. then painted this little at a time. My husband builds these types of model boats so he critiquedwow I am deeply humbled that you used a six me while I was doing the sails and the rigging. It has a great deal of detail in it, but with all that work it doesn't show unless it is enlarged. I always enlarge my work almost over 100 % to get the detail I want. The advantage of digital work LOL. thank you again Joyce for your review and kind words

I think this is awesome. I'm giving it a 6 because it is a stunning seascape. The colors are great. Love the reflections and the light on the water. I read that story that you told Dale when he gave you a cyber six. I laughed my butt of at your story. Sounds like something I'd do. Anyway, your painting is lovely and I can't wait to see more.

Great piece! Love the intricate detail you were able to achieve with the digital painting. I would like to see the original before the blue tint because I think the tint takes away from the contrasting oranges and pinks that would've brought out the natural blue of the water. Otherwise a great entry to the contest. Good job!
