You have photographed Barney very well, his facial expression looks like he's pondering life, very clear image with great facial detail, and detail throughout, natural colors and tones, he stands out nicely against the similar toned background, this is very nice work and was a pleasure to view!

You seem to have captured a very pensive moment for him. On my monitor this feels bright and losing some detail, you might look and see what happens if you pull it down slightly. I think some vignetting would help to bring him out by pulling the background down as well. For me there is a sadness in his eyes. Well shot.

This is indeed a beautiful portrait of a Gorilla, and he is indeed looking thoughtful. I especially like how the light is falling on his face giving it almost a silvery look, and you have also brought out the fie textures of the fur.
Barney is standing out sharp and well defined against the neutral background, and it is such clear and well defined details to be seen in his face. I also think the exposure is very good.
The tight cropping works well and Barney has got a very good placement off to the left. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.

May thoughts are provoked from this picture. Which way do I go with them. Sad, alone, hurt and maybe in pain....and I love the portrait of this. Expression makes me sad. I like that. Colors are all brilliant and I thank you many times over for all that you to for us here at FAR! Your priceless to me.

None of the above :) Him and his brother are quite happy and the run around his cage free encousure often, although I've never been lucky enough to see that yet.
thanks so much Joannie

Yes, he certainly does look lost in his thoughts! Perhaps he is trying to recall episodes of freedom? Your nice image is well composed, sharp with good exposure. Nicely done!
