A photograph from Debs garden in which the subject can be found without a prerequisite knowledge of navigating by the stars and a ready supply of Duracell 'D's, is a rare shot indeed.
I like this one. Your eye and camera skill brings this bud alive, you can see the life force emanating from each fiber of its being - awesome.
I think budding stage is an under appreciated aspect of nature photography. Flowers in this early stage exhibit a much different posture. And still as different as they are from us, some aspects of their nature are common to us.
Look at how the infant blossom is carefully protected and cradled by the, what I will call, nurse leaves much the same way a human neonate is.
Technically this has all positives going for it.
Artistically & aesthetically it is a creative personification of the nurturing of new life.
Oh yeah, I like the bug on the left, gives the piece class ... B-)) Bob

Also like your assessment re: the protective nature of the leaves surrounding the bud. So true and a wonderful comparison to us. Have you ever heard of the book "The Secret Life of Plants?" I can't think of the author at the moment but there's a whole section on that. At any rate- thank you so much for another wonderful review- seriously good! ...and glad you liked the little Lady Bug I talked into hanging around to add some 'class' to my image....lol

You are not the first one to see this as purple....or plum colored swimmer.....but definitely would not want to eat it. LOL It is actually brown but may look that way to me just b/c I know what it looks like in real life. You are a dear for having a look at this guy and I do so appreciate the shiny gold star you shared with it. Thank you VERY much!

You know that is a very good idea Ed.....a flower from birth on through to death in the garden.....lol Rather a dramatic way to phrase it but I really like the idea. I may spend the next couple of months deciding which blossom this would work best with. Thank you my friend for popping such a good idea into my head.....oh, and for the lovely review as well.
