Quite a beautiful flower shot posted here! Your full and central composition grants us an enjoyable look at your lovely flower. Sharpness and exposure are fine. Nicely taken!

I have some "black eyed susans" growing down by the water. Somebody told me they were Rudbeckia goldsturm, but surely you must be right on this one. A great looking bud in a perfect setting.

I have wild ones too MM....they grow all over the orchard but the ones in my gardens are bigger and stronger. The RUDBECKIA family is huge....and complicated.....technically they aren't even black but brown.....lol I believe 'goldstrum' is another variety of 'hirta' . Thank you so much for having a look.

What a beautiful bud, a black eyed Susan, don't know if Susan would like a black eye, like the colors you have captured here, very nice details and depth and textures, a pleasure to look at, thank you for sharing, dale

LOL....I almost included in my notes who "Susan' actually was.....yes, there WAS a real Susan. Was going to take too many words to explain though. Thank you so much for having a look at my new piece Dale. How's the hand today??

A fantastic and pin sharp macro shot of the centre of an emerging Lazy Susan, this would have been ideal for the macro photos contest, I suppose editing would have prevented that sadly - however a fine and colourful piece, with the bright green leaves and outer layer contrasting with the furry purple ball in the middle, sitting neatly. Excellent detail in this close up capture of the "Rud-Bud", with the tiny white hairs showing as well as the veined leaves, and short DOF creates a good blurred B/G to accentuate the piece further and overall create a good composition, great work :)

Very nice natural capture, super clear details on the center, it's interesting to view this stage of the soon to be yellow flower , well composed , the center really shows well against the rich green. I see a ladybug on the tiny petal on the left too!

Yup...a tiny Lady Bug there Pat. Some very fine spider webbing as well in a couple of places. Do appreciate you having a look at my new piece and thank you for the lovely review you've given it.

Nicely taken and well seen. It is a little soft on the petals/leaves because of the aperture opening, but that also gives you a nice soft background. Colors are good. Is that a lady bug on the one leaf?

Nice job.

Yes it is Charles. Good eye. Actually thought this one fairly crisp.....you can see not only the hairs on all the petals but a bit of spider web in there as well. Do appreciate your thoughts though...you have a fine eye for flowers.

It is in most places. But if you look at the leaves in the bottoe of the bud, the tips that come out toward you are very soft. I am guessing it is about 1 f-stop off or lens aberration. It isn't critical but it is noticeable. I have the same issue with a lot of my shots.

Shot this one at several different f stops. May have been a slight breeze too. Flowers are never stationary.....unfortunately when it comes to photographing them anyway.

i prefer Brown Betty ha ha ! anyway a beautiful presentation of this Betty Bud with sharpness of detail in your focusing with an appropriate diffused backdrop allowing for that bud to stand ready to burst into action...nice one Debs
