I love Alaska and this scene displays the beauty that I remember. I love the still waters in the Inlet and the lovely reflections you captured. The framing is expertly done

The calm water does look very nice and the reflection of the mountains is also lovely. I like how you framed the water to lead through the scene and into the view of the mountains.

That is just gorgeous. Wow. I would like to put my rowing scull in the water and spend some time there on a quiet morning.
Really well shot with fabulous focus, details and lighting.
Picture perfect as they say!

This is one of the most beautiful landscape scenes I have ever seen.
My Popaw was stationed in Alaska in the Navy and he said it was beautiful.
Your photo is so crisp and clear.
THe refelction in the moving water is gorgeous and somewhat blurry as I think it should be, as its moving water. One day I hope to be able to paint something like this.
Is this a area that becomes more filled with water at certain times of the year? like the area to the right? Mom watches tv shows about living in Alaska and its really cool watching them with her.
Amazing presentation, thank you for sharing your beauty with us.

This is Cook Inlet at low tide so the sand bar is exposed.

Wow. Breathtaking
This is a perfect picture. Composition is awesome. Perfect lighting. The reflection caught in the water just helps the color balance and flow from the focus all the way out. There is nothing about this photo I would do to improve it. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Low tide? Just love the photographs you take and share. I think you got away with the one third rule violation on this one because of all that calm water in the foreground backed up by the mountains in the background that is not reflected in the water. Another nice beautiful picture of a beautiful place on this earth. Reasons for my five star vote.

Thank you so very much! Yes this is low tide . The tide here is a boar tide , it sort of all comes in at once!

Hi Pat, oh to see such beauty on your way home ... truly spectacular in every dimension of this scene. where do I begin, My eyes are feasting upon every feature displayed within. A fabulous angle used to capture this divine setting of nature.. the low lying clouds in the background with their hint of pink hue, stretching across the peaks of the mountains below form a wonderful border to accentuate the snow covered peaks that are a stunning focal point in the scene. the undulating mountain range leaves me breathless. It seems nicely balanced between closer mountain on the right and the bank on the left.. The hillside on the left seems void of snow and its green shrubbery is boasting its joy , providing great contrast to the bluish hue over the distant background range. Even the road side that winds itself around this hillside adds its own story to your photo. the gleam from the sky seems to be highlighting the bank on the side of the roadway and draws my attention to the reddish hue .. The water's surface itself is so serene.. the blue hue of colour blends beautifully from the base of the mountains , changing colour with depth and reflection as it approaches the foreground of the scene. such a still calm day has given the surface a silky glass type effect and the reflections are just amazing. they add a new dimension to the view.. mirroring the banks and their upright conifers so perfectly in the water below.. that reflection give the picture a feeling of depth and an almost fantasy flare.. The pink hue reflection in the foreground that extends itself along the stretch of waters beyond brings its own touch of warmth.. As does the pink hue sitting softly on the mountain peaks. The sandy shoreline on the right is a delightful inclusion.. bringing another value to the view.. and a further feeling of depth of field ... as my eyes again focus upon the mountain range beyond.. The entire scene just oozes peace and tranquility at its very best Pat.. Such a magnificent warm and inviting display of nature.. Mind blowing in every form.. Thanks for sharing your beautiful country Alaska once again. I truly understand why tourists rave about the scenic value it has to offer.. Your photo is perfectly exposed with wonderful lighting and a beautiful balanced effect. What more can I say,, sensational in its appeal , both visually and emotionally. an absolutely blissful scene to review. happy smiles from mel

Pat,
A beautiful & very calm sunset picture over Cook Inlet the setting sun colouring some of the clouds, two of the snow capped mountain peaks & the shore line on the left of the picture with splashes of peachy pink this beauty then reflected onto the mirror still water of the inlet along with the pearl grey clouds & pale blue sky above. Artistic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
Susan
