It is indeed a tribute to the sadness of people experience any kind of dementia. Except for the last phase, documented in the face with the closed eyes, the creation shows that the people still know about their condition and are very frightened by it.
That the face right is cut of tells me that there were earlier phases which might did go un-noted. It shows the sadness of depression. The blue face is especially impressive because the it seems fully aware of its own person and its condition. The last phase, the phase with the closed eyes seems like a relieve because the dreams which may come are happy and the hurt is gone.
A message to all of us not to discard, but to respect those people. It reminds us also that we do not know what our own future might bring.
The colors of the faces underline the condition of the persons. The background colors amplify them.
In my opinion this creation is the most creative in this contest.

I know where you are coming from. My mum got dementia in her late eighties and nineties. She would say, it is market day down town /in Poszon/ today, we have to get ready. Also she got frenetic about having a h anky in every pocket and up her sleeve. I think her mum made her keep one there all the while, so I had to buy boxes of hankies I kept in her wardrobe to ensure she always got a hanky. The carers stole them, so she got even more upset.. it is hard.

It is. I am so sorry you had to cope with that. It is hard to watch them fade. Thanks you for your empathy.

Humpty dumpty is a part of each of us at one time or another. That is the feeloing I get from this painting. We all are fractured like eggs, it is only a matter of how we deal with it. Each "egg" has chosen a different way. One is blue, one is perhaps unsettled and one is serene. or at least that is what I think is going on in each egg noggin.

These faces show so much emotion and after reading your artist notes are a perfect depiction of what a
care giver can go through.
Your artist notes are heartfelt and very touching.
This disease can be just as hard on loved ones caring for those with it, and this portrays those feelings wonderfully. I hope this has been a therapeutic piece for you. God Bless.

Good artists notes and a passionate way to put your feeling into your art work. Such a sad illness that effect so many. The initial impact are the facial fractures and expression and emotions in your art work. The eyes so emotionally created. Good brush strokes and blending and shading of color. Your background accentuates your art work nicely. A creative and talented art work. Thanks for sharing!

This is a really nice way to look at the disease, can see a lot of emotions here,,the concept is interesting, your colours are placed nice and we tend to look at the middle, love the closed eyes of the first face as we are breathing in and out in the way to deal with a loved one with this,,

I can relate to the subject matter of this artwork as I've seen a grandfather go through Alzheimers and now my mom is being tested for dementia. I like the expressions on the faces and the fractures in the eggs makes them look so fragile...breaking apart a little at a time.
