I think this is a lovely example of a photo with one selective color, and I also think you have pictured this pretty bird really well. I especially like the pose, and also how well it is standing out from the nicely softened background.
Your focus is spot on and sharp and it is such clear and well defined details to be seen in the bird. I also think the exposure is perfect.
I like the square format you have cropped the photo into, and the bird has got a very good placement within the frame. I think this is a lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

She was the most wonderful lady I ever knew. Anyway your picture brings back all those wonderful memories. Very nice in the selective color and actually a perfect choice.
