This is a great black and white shot. The sky looks amazing and the contrasts throughout spot on. I was struggle with this when converting an image. Great work here.

Very nice capture Mary Eileen.
I find black and white to evoke so much more than color forcing the viewer to look at the details.
Nice perspective, fine contrast, great details, textures and fine leading lines of the bricks.
Great entry. Best of luck.

This B&W photograph touches a chord in me. Photography is a very powerful medium. Excellent photos don't only display some facts -- they tell stories and awake feelings. This photo does it. Good luck in the contest!

Well present BW. The shadows and contrast and tones are well done. The area between the building draw the viewer right down the frame to the back fence. Well done, a pleasure to view

Ah. A very nice one here Mary Eileen. I like the image first of all. Great POV with good detail. Your rendering in black & white made the scene much more dramatic and powerful. It has a sheen or something about it that is really eye catching. Great entry for the contest and best of luck in the voting. I think this will do extremely well and will set the standard by which the other entries will be judged ~ Steve

This is an awesome capture! It is so artsy :)
The black and white gives it a very artistic feel. This texture of the brick and the alley is visually appealing and I love the look of the sky.
Thanks for sharing!

Your choice of black and white works so well on this shot of a local factory. I love the narrow path between the buildings drawing us into this photography. The initial impact for me is the wonderful tonal range and contrast with beautiful play of light and shadows. Outstanding photography and thanks for sharing. A good contender in the Black and White Contest and thanks for sharing!

A pretty good entry into the competition posted here! How do I know? Because my parents went to work, for many years, in establishments just like in your photograph! Well done and good luck!

The monochromatic black and white is ideal for this view. It gives the photo the appearance of an old photo. This is very adequate for the historical buildings. The textures are well captured. Some might bee restored, but there is surely no concrete anywhere. The adobe walls and the broken pavement are probably from the beginning of the last century our older. The foundation of the wall at left is made from natural stone and could be from a even older building.
The photo has a beautiful dept. I like the deep angle of t6he shot which allows us the see the curved street, different buildings in the background and the run-off of water. Apparently the location is the side of a hill. A lot of information you have captures beside the interesting view.
