It looks like your wife is taking good care of this cactus plant, and the colors of the bloom are so delicate. It has such an elegant and fragile look, and I especially like how lovely the light is falling on it.
Your focus is spot on and sharp and it is such clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the bloom. I also think the exposure is perfect.
I like the way you have cropped so that all the buds are visible in the background, and the bloom has got a fine placement off to the left. A lovely and well taken photo with a very good DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

I know all about that Willie, because I have quite a few plants myself, and in summer it is the garden.

I love a Christmas cactus. Their blossoms look like silky pulled taffy and they are one of the few cacti with no thorns. The flowers are delicate and they come in beautiful colors. You did a great job of capturing their beauty and their unusual leaves in this composition.
