Initial impact would be greatly enhanced & heightened if that surfer would be added as she'll surely give a comparative perspective to this colossal barrel!
Bluish overtone is visually soothing.
Great strokes,
Best of luck in the contest!

I do not think that the surfer is needed. I rather think it would distract from the barrel. I am not a surfer either, but I was a safeguard when I was younger, who run into a barrel. I think the wave is pretty authenticwith all those shades of blue and the white foam on top of the tourning wave. I like how you placed the tunnel to the left and the tight framing. This gives the viewer the feel to be part of the action and actually inside the barrel.

Very well done! A real sense of the movement and power of the curl. Good blending of the colors also creates a true sense of the ocean waters. nice job with the foam on the top of the waves. Beautiful.

I've seen those kind of waves and you have nailed it..I don't think you need her as she can already see herself inside the wave. Beautiful strokes in shades of blue and the white sea foam. Very nice. Thanks for sharing.

I like what you did here on this wave. It's an abstract and intense looking wave. The eye of the wave pulls you in and the foam on top lets you feel the movement of the wave. Nice work and good luck in the contest.

No surfer needed, Linda, the wave says it all. You have depicted the enormity of it perfectly which peaks the imagination toward the ride any surfer will get. Superb rendering with fine use of color and texture nuances to create this. Depth and perspective are spot on. A great contest entry. Good luck. Ed.

Thanks Ed. I started to put the surfer in and decided it will ruin the mood. Thanks for your input and encouragement.

Thank you so much. You sound like me. I started to put her in and then said no. Afraid she might ruin the mood. I shall have to think on it a couple of days.
