Love this shot! You're right, the lighting on the duck is just perfect! I like the way it shines and makes his feathers almost iridescent on his face. Great composition and coloring. Beautiful!

Either that, or his bill was cold. Nice shot. Good clear focus with lots of details. Good color, nice soft background with no distractions. The light plays well to shape the head. The eye is well seen. good job.

The colors in this mallard are very eye catching and beautiful Grace. The light was perfectly illuminating the beauty of its head and you captured it so well. Love the closeup view and the depth that this photo has.
A strikingly beautiful view of this lovely duck.

This photo made me wonder why birds tuck their heads when sleeping so I looked it up. They rest their heads on their backs and nestle their bills in their back feathers to rest their neck muscles and conserve energy. Thanks for making me learn something new today! Now to your image: I too like the way the light reflects off his colorful head giving his feathers iridescent jewel tones.

Grace,
A beautiful picture of the Mallard Drake tucking his head under his wing in preparation of taking a nap, one eye still open as he watches you the soft light shining off his iridescent green head. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

The light on the Mallard's head set the tone for the entire photo. It is truly the only bright color in the photo. The rest of the colors are muted. The focus is spot on, and the subject is well centered. It is an enjoyable photo. Thank you for sharing.
