Beautiful robin. They are so different then the Canadian robins. Just so much cuter. Look at this little guy sitting there so perfectly. Just enjoying the day. Beautifully captured. Focused, sharp, great lighting, depth and perfectly framed.
Thank you for sharing. Linda

Linda,
Thanks a million for your great review on this Cheeky semi tame Robin in my Fuchsia bush.
European Robins are Old World Flycatchers while the Canadian Robin belongs to the Thrush Family as is twice the size of our Robins.

You have indeed captured this sweet looking Robin well Susan, and it is so lovely the way the light is falling on it. I also like the way the branches are working as a nice and natural framing.
The nicely softened background makes the bird stand out sharp and well defined showing such clear and well defined details in the bird. I also think the exposure is very good, and this has brought out the fine high light in the shiny eye.
The format and framing works well, and the Robin is well placed off to the right. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.

It is nice to see that some of your birds have such gracious manners. Around here they just rush in to gobble up whatever is available. Very nice lighting and a great catchlight in the eye.

John,
Thanks a million for your great review. Robins can be bullies with the smaller bird BUT when twenty Starling descend on the Garden, the Robin retreats.

And waiting patiently. Cute bird in the bushes. Nice clear shot with no distractions. Good focus and color so its details are readily visible. Good composition. Well seen and well taken.

another robin.....
it is strange that I don't see any in our area;
a good framing and capture despite the crossing branch with sharp focus;

Fred,
Merci beaucoup mille fois for your complementary review.
Do you put out food for the Robins..they love dried meal worms. You can put them in a feeder or just scatter them on the ground.
Another thing do you have a lot of visiting Cats? I have three but they don't stay long with Juno in the alert to chase them.

no I don't put food for the birds; they find enough worms in my garden;
and I don't want to attract them; they eat my raspberries....
-
Robins don't eat raspberries..the main culprits for that are Pigeons & Blackbirds. Susan

I have a lot of magpies in my garden: they eat everything, including tomatoes...

Fred,
The Magpies eat little birds too!
